"Jan looks and sounds like Mary Tyler Moore—the same enthusiasm.

I felt like I'd spent the day with a friend."

David Bergh

Tacoma News, Inc.

Right there on the cutting edge, Jan established the firm, J'Ambry, in 1976. Referred to in the Seattle Times as a "pioneer in the image industry" and "the most frequently-quoted image professional in the Northwest," she was a popular guest on television and radio and in constant demand as a speaker. Eventually, her clients asked her to expand her topic to include interpersonal skills. As much as she had enjoyed image consulting, this really excited her!

"From our very first telephone conversation, I knew that we had struck gold! Your eagerness to put together a relevant and fun session for our groups was apparent from the start. Your ability to customize materials and topics in order to pinpoint the exact concerns of our teams was greatly appreciated. You were easy to contact and made the planning process effortless."

Laurie J. Hopkins
Manager, Human Resources
Alliance Machine Systems International, LLC

To complete this transition, Jan joined the respected public seminar company, CareerTrack, in 1994. As a highly-rated trainer, Jan toured the United States, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom conducting communication skills and design seminars until 1999.

"You utilize good principles of teaching the adult learner: active participation, varying the pace of the presentation, humor and quality content. Your examples spoke directly to the needs that I had expressed to you prior to the workshops."

Lynda Humphrey, Director
Strategic Planning, Grants & Staff Development
Northshore School District

Respected by her peers, Jan served as the 1992-93 president of the award-winning National Speakers Association/Northwest. Jan's also been quoted—or authored articles—in The Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, Seattle Times, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, News Tribune and Puget Sound Business Journal. Suddeutsche Zeitung, the largest daily paper in Southern Germany, ran a series of articles in which Jan offered her professional evaluation of political candidates based on viewing video clips. Jan's favorite? Gerhard Schroeder who was elected chancellor soon thereafter!

"I want to thank you for the ease with which we were able to present this workshop to our employees. I found you to be extremely pleasant and easy to work with—it was obvious to me that you wanted to do the best possible job for Cap Sante Marine and our employees."

Graeme W. Wilson
President & CEO
Cap Sante Marine, Ltd.

Jan has walked in many of your shoes. She worked her way through school as a lifeguard, salesperson, waitress and secretary. After graduating from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Fine Arts, Jan worked as a teacher, writer, graphic designer, newsletter editor, photographer's model, actress in television commercials and industrial films, salesperson, retail manager, image consultant, speaker, trainer, business owner and road warrior.

"You have a great presentation style and are highly skilled at establishing rapport with participants."
